Dr. Dele Omojuigbe
(Deputy Provost)
Dele Omojuyigbe, PhD, is a communication expert. He studied English Language and also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the College of Journalism, Lagos. He had B.A English Studies from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University); M.A. English from the University of Lagos; and PhD English from the University of Ibadan. Omojuyigbe has published seven English textbooks for tertiary institutions and written many articles in local and international journals. He worked in several media houses, including Daily Times, where he was, on different occasions, editor of newspapers and magazines. He joined the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos.
Dr. Adeboye Ola
(HOD; General Studies) Adeboye OLA, Ph.D, is a photographer and master trainer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dramatic Arts, Master of Science degree in Mass Communication, a British Education Examinations Council’s (BEEC) Professional Diploma in Public Relations and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism. He started his journalism career at the Vanguard Media Ltd in 1988 as a Reporter/photographer and later worked at the defunct Sunday Concord as a writer/ photojournalist between 1989 and 1994. He worked as the Corporate Affairs Manager with Rathma Holdings, from 1994-1998 then went into professional photography until he joined NIJ in 2004.
Dr. Jide Johnson
(Director of Special Programmes) Jide Johnson is a teacher, coach, media strategist, communication consultant, and public affairs analyst with over two-decade experience and expertise in media and communication studies, audience research, corporate communications, brand management, and popular culture. A scholar with bias in media narrative, popular culture, and audience research, Jide holds a PhD in Mass Communication, with specialisation in media audience and popular culture from Babcock University as well as a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, from the University of Lagos. Jide is presently the Director, Special Programmes at Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos State.
Josphine Okocha
(Lecturer/Portal Administrator) Okocha Josephine Obiageli, is an IT Expert, consultant and well grounded lecturer in the field of Information and Communication Technology. With about 8years experience in lecturing/Training in the IT industry, coupled with different certifications in IT courses (both local and international) which include certifications from IBM, NIIT and Cisco Academy. Josephine, is an outstanding graduate of Lagos State University with an award of Lagos State University Scholar and also has an MSC in Information Technology. Having lectured at the Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-uku, holding the position of examination officer of the Department in the Institution. She is currently, a lecturer/Portal Administrator at NIJ.
