The Nigerian Institute of Journalism, NIJ would hold its matriculation ceremony for the 2020/2021 academic session on February 17, 2021.
A release from the school, said the ceremony would hold on the institution’s campus in Ogba Lagos, beginning from 11am.
It said classes to matriculate include the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Class, Higher National Diploma (HND), and National Diploma (ND) class.
The NIJ, a leading monotechnic in Mass Communication, also runs short courses in Effective Communication and photojournalism, amongst others.
Meanwhile the provost of the institute, Mr Gbenga Adefaye has commended the students of the school for showing impressive interest in entrepreneurial training.
Mr Adefaye made the commendation while inspecting an exhibition of products mounted on campus by the students as part of their entrepreneurial training.
Products on display included face caps, paper bags, cups, buckets and badges, amongst others, all produced by students
The exhibition which was mounted on the school football pitch attracted a retinue of visitors, including members of the academic and administrative staff, students and a few guests.
Mr Adefaye singled out the group that produced a branded cup for the NIJ studio, Pen Radio, for their initiative.
Mr Adefaye commended the quality of products on display, advising that they will be well marketed by the students.
The coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Centre, Mrs Bisi Bamise, while congratulating the participating classes said they would have done more but for the after-effect of the lockdown, which she said, affected their logistics.
She said it was commendable that students of the school, despite majoring in Mass communication were showing interest in entrepreneurship, and that plans were underway to strengthen the curriculum.
