*2023 Election: Lagos CP assures Nigerians of adequate security*

The Lagos state Commissioner of police Abiodun Alabi, represented by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in charge of operations, Mr. Oludotun Odubona has assured Nigerians of adequate security before, during and after the 2023 General elections later this month.
He disclosed this today, 1st of February at a town hall symposium organised by the Nigerian Institute of Journalism Ogba-Lagos for the Lagos state Gubernatorial candidates.
The ACP said the security arrangements for the 2023 General elections is in three stages, the pre-election, the election and post election.
He stated that the police will provide adequate security for all sensitive materials which include BVAS, Ballot boxes amongst others while personnel will also be positioned strategically to man polling units across the country.
“Citizens should not be afraid to exercise their rights to vote, also all collation centres will be provided with adequate security.”
“After the election the police will also be alert for any uprising due to the announcement of result.
The Lagos state NNPP candidate, Otunba Olanrewaju Jim-Kamal in his address said Lagos state has the capacity to fund all its projects without borrowing a kobo and appealed to Lagosians to trust him with their votes so that the much debated Ibile trust fund of over 40 trillion naira can be accessed by the citizens.
He also added that the party is blessed with learned candidates with the least holding a masters degree.
“We don’t have money bags in our party, we don’t have governors to finance us, but we are moving on and above others.”

He further went on to read out his Manifesto which he called the 5 fundamental agenda; -Automated Free E- Education at all levels
-Automated free life services
-Infrastructural facilities of international standard
-Social security, women emancipation and Youth empowerment
-Restructuring which will start from Lagos
Comrade kehinde Adeoye who represented the human rights lawyer and activist, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) lamented the poor attitude of citizens towards election and challenged everyone to fight for good governance.
“If you don’t have PVC you have no constitutional right to complain about bad governance because you have contributed to bad governance” He said.
He went on to appeal to the Press and civil Society to always speak out when something is not right.
